Hubert et Pierre Pradelle
Located in the southern part of the Rhone Valley, the town of Suze la Rousse is known for its medieval castle, its wines and its university of wine. From a long family of winemakers, Hubert Pradelle owns the 25 ha vineyard. In 2000, Hubert’s son, Pierre, started working with him and had the dreamed of making organic wine. The following year the two worked to convert the vineyards to organics, and began to incorporate some biodynamic methods as well. While sulfurs are used periodically, each wine is made with the least intervention necessary, with wild yeasts, and natural fining techniques. Their soil is predominantly argillaceous soils and grow Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvedre with 8ha of Grenache blanc, all average 35 years of age.
